Description: Croton is a branching, bushy shrub that grows up to 10 feet tall but those offered as houseplants are usually much smaller than the wild plant. The large, thick, leathery leaves are 2 to 12 inches long and quite variable.
Uses: Popular uses include treatment of cancer, constipation, diabetes, digestive problems, dysentery, external wounds and fever. Croton seeds are often ground up into a paste and applied to the skin to treat rashes, joint and nerve pain. It is grown as an ornamental for its striking foliage.
