How to Propagate Seed:
Phlox is a perennial that should be planted permanently in the garden. It can be sown directly in the garden on can be raised in seedling trays. Sow the seeds directly in the garden with 3mm deep and 15cm apart. The soil should be moist but never wet or dry. Seeds will germinate around 14-21 days at a soil temperature of 18-21°C. When seedlings have several mature leaves then transplant them into the garden.
How to Protect them from disease:
Like all plants, Phlox is receptive to pests, diseases and other problems. When it is growing in the garden, it is attacked by downy mildew, grey mould and powdery mildew. To control these disease attack, fertilizes them properly and apply fungicide spray on them. Water the plants at the soil level, not on the leaves. Remove the deadhead flowers to prolong the fresh flowering. Apply slow-release fertilizer when seedlings are 5-10cm tall. Also apply liquid fertilizer when plants are fruiting or flowering.
