Description: The golden torch has erect columnar stems, branching at the base and rising to about 2 m in height; it is about 7.5 cm thick. It bears fragrant white funnel-shaped flowers, up to 20 cm long, which open at night.
Uses: The fruit of the Golden Torch cactus is most often eaten fresh simply as a raw snack or added into salads. It is widely grown as an ornamental cactus in indoor pots. Used in the Xeriscape, in foundations, raised planters, containers, courtyards, or narrow, confined spaces.

Soil Requirement	Cacti require a porous, sandy or pebbly potting soil that provides plenty of aeration and excellent drainage. A good cactus potting mixture will also consist of some organic material that makes moisture available to the plant roots when watered but then dries out quickly.
