- Common Name: Brompton Stock, Common Stock, Hoary Stock, Ten-Week Stock and Gilly-Flower.
- Description: They are among the oldest ornamental plants and have been cultivated already in ancient Rome. I former times, they were highly appreciated because of their fragrant, beautiful blossoms.
- Uses: The infusion is used for treating cancer and if mixed with wine, it acts as an antidote to poisonous bites. Flowers are consumed as a vegetable.
