  • Common Name: Inch plant, Wandering jew, Spiderwort 
  • Description: It is a herbaceous perennial often grown as a houseplant. It has interesting variegated foliage striped green, white, and gray leaves with purple undersides. The leaves are ovate and clasp the stem at the base. Tiny three-petaled lavender-purple flowers appear infrequently indoors.
  • Uses: Can be used in pots, as border plants, or as hanging plants. Commonly grown as a groundcover. The plant have demonstrated significant pharmacological activities such as anticancer, antioxidant, antibacterial.

Soil Requirement It prefers a fairly evenly moist potting mix. A normal, well-draining houseplant soil without any additives should work fine in most cases.
Environment This plant does best in light shade outdoors but bright light indoors. It can be moved outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. It grow in normal household temperatures: anywhere from 10°C to 24°C.
Watering It needs watering once a week. In more humid conditions, you may need less frequent watering, and if it’s hot or dry, you may need to water more often.
